Vehicles we accept in Maryland

Cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, boats, RVs — running or not, clean title or complicated.

At Chesapeake Chariots, we proudly accept nearly any vehicle, whether it’s drivable or not. Whether you have an old sedan sitting in the driveway, a pickup truck that’s seen better days, or even a boat collecting dust at the marina, your donation can make a meaningful difference. Our program provides essential funding to support local residents in accessing benefits programs like SNAP and Maryland Medicaid. So, if you’re looking to declutter and help your community at the same time, we’re here to help you through the donation process, no matter what type of vehicle you have.

Categories we accept

Cars & Sedans
1995-present

Donated sedans are often sold at auction to the highest bidder. If the car has mechanical issues, it may be sold for parts, providing much-needed revenue to support local initiatives.

Sedans are a popular choice in Maryland’s suburban areas, where families often rely on them for daily commutes and errands.

Pickup Trucks
1995-present

Pickup trucks are typically resold at auctions, but if they are in less-than-ideal condition, they may be salvaged for parts, giving new life to other vehicles.

In Maryland, pickups are frequently used for work, outdoor activities, and hauling, making them a valuable donation.

SUVs & Crossovers
1995-present

SUVs and crossovers often fetch good prices at auctions or can be recycled for parts if needed, supporting our community services.

With Maryland’s diverse terrain, from urban areas to rural landscapes, SUVs are a popular choice for families and adventure seekers alike.

Motorcycles
1995-present

Motorcycles may be sold at auction or disassembled for parts, with proceeds going directly to community programs.

Motorcycles are a common sight on Maryland’s scenic routes, especially during the warmer months, and your donation can help others in need.

RVs & Campers
1995-present

RVs and campers are often auctioned off to enthusiasts or can be sold for parts, with proceeds benefitting local residents.

Maryland’s camping spots are popular destinations, and your donation could help fund essential community programs while giving another family adventures.

Boats
1995-present

Boats may be submitted for auction or sold for parts, providing funds that directly assist local families in need.

Living near the Chesapeake Bay, many residents own boats, so your donation helps keep our waters active while supporting vital research services.

Commercial Vehicles
1995-present

These vehicles often go to auction and can provide significant funds, which are then utilized for supporting local services.

In Maryland, various businesses rely on commercial vehicles, and donating can help revitalize your community’s support systems.

Non-running Vehicles
Any year

Even if your vehicle doesn't run, we can still take it! It may be sold for parts or recycled, with proceeds aiding community programs.

With many residents owning older vehicles, donating non-running units can help our state repurpose resources effectively.

Condition guide

When it comes to vehicle donations, Chesapeake Chariots accepts vehicles in various conditions. If your vehicle is running, it’s typically the easiest to donate, as it may be resold quickly at auction. However, even if your car isn’t operational, it can still qualify for donation. Many non-running vehicles are picked up, salvaged for parts, or recycled to benefit the community.

It’s essential to note that vehicles with salvage titles, or those that have been significantly damaged, are still eligible for donation but may have limitations on how we process them. If you’re unsure about your vehicle’s status, please reach out to us. We can help determine whether it’s a fit for our program!

Our team is experienced in navigating various situations, from apartments to rural properties. If your vehicle is in a hard-to-reach spot, like a marina or a rural location, we can work with you to arrange a convenient pickup time. Don’t hesitate to reach out – we’re here to make the donation process as smooth as possible!
